It's a Blogiversary!

Good morning everyone!  Wow!  I can't believe I've been away for so long.  I apologize and will try to get things back on track.

My two friends, Dawn, and Michelle, and I have decided to celebrate our blogs turning one by doing a mini hop of sorts.  After reading through my time warp, head back to Michelle's blog and there just might be a prize involved! Since this is a hop, you should've arrived here from Dawn's blog.  If not, jump back to Michelle's to start from the beginning.

On to the business at hand!  My little bloggity baby is growing up so fast!  This month, my blog turns one!  Wow!  It's crazy how far my blog, my writing comfort level, and my style have come.  I went from just trying this whole "blogging madness" out to actually relying on my blog to spread the word about art, crafts, and the joys of DIY gifting.  It really is amazing.

I'm thought doing a "compare and contrast" kind of thing would be fun.  Below is a page that I did 4 years ago.  Following that will be a page I did one year ago when I started this blog.  Then I'll share a more recent page.  It's absolutely CRAZY to see how we grow and learn....and all thanks to other blogs and vlogs!

Oh my gawd!  Look at this masterpiece!

LMAO!! Look at the ingenuity and the foam stickers!  I bet those are Jolee's!

Remember those "page templates"?  Yep.  I went there.  Oh look!  More Jolee's!

Here are some pages from a year ago.  I guess these aren't so bad!

I started experimenting with paint splatter and pattern layering.

And then I went through this layering everything page....kinda like the 80s!  More! More! More!

And now, we move forward to the here and now!

Oh ho we've grown!

And here's one that I haven't shared on here!  I made the flower from old cardboard and matted the whole shebang onto another piece of corrugated cardboard.

I've even learned to make my flowers and recycle!

Now that you have finished here, head back to Michelle's blog and let her know that you have finished our mini hop!  If you want brownie points, a gold start, an "atta boy", or just to check another amazingly AWESOME blog, swing on by Cassie's place and check out her to die for creations!

Paper Issues is Playing with Flashbacks!

Have you ever looked back on your older stuff and think, "What the hellahz was I thinking?"  or just sit back and laugh and reminisce about "the good ol' days"?  Do you just sit back and say "Day-um!" or "My oh my!  How I have grown!"

Well, here's your chance to strut your "not so big girl" scrapping pants from way back in the day.  Paper Issues is sponsoring Flashback Friday Challenges this month!  It's ridiculously easy to win an awesome prize being given by Paper Issues.  Totally drool worthy and you don't want to miss out on this!

Snow Day kit

This prize kit includes:

*A full package of Wood Shapes
*Dimensional Stickers
*Bitty Blocks
*Ephemera pack
*24 sheets of double sided 6x6 papers
Now here's where you have your chance to win this awesome kit.  And trust me.  Awesome it is because I've seen it in real life!  Go over to Friday Flashback Challenges and link up your first tag you've made.  Make sure the link you leave is for the blog post featuring said beginner tag and BAZINGA!  You're done!

I guess it would ONLY be fair to share my very first tag.  I apologize for the crappy photo but hey.  Don't judge me!
Awww!  Now she's all  grown up!  Well, at least a rebellious emo teen now.

I used Glimmer mist screens, mists and Tim Holtz distress inkpads.  The stamp is by A Muse Stamps.  The flowers are Prima and the ribbons are just some scraps I had in my stash.

::SIGH:: She was just a little baby back then.  "Back then" is 2008 but that's an ETERNITY in paper years!

Now go link your firsties up for a chance to win some Pink Paislee "Snow Day"!

Panache!

Hey yo!  How's everyone hangin' today?  I know I'm in a fantastic mood!  Fall is in the air.  I've been cooking and baking.  I need to do some major creating too.  Which brings me to this post.  Today, one of my favorite pages I've ever done went live over at Gauche Alchemy!  It's full of texture, "found" items, and color color color!

-
See what I mean?  COLOR out the arse!  I love color and texture.  And this page has both!  I used a mix of product from Gauche Alchemy, Pink Paislee, and even a freebie download!

I used Pink Paislee's "Mistables" paper and alphas.  I absolutely SWEAR by this line as a must-have staple in your supply chest.  The color is 100% customizable.  Just spray and wipe with a paper towel and DONE, SIR DONE!

Anyone who know me and my style, knows that I have a deep seeded infatuation with anything Punchinella!  Of course, what would a Gauche page be without some?!  It would be blashpemy, that's what!  To keep with the texture mix and visual interest, I used some screen mesh from the Acme kit and actually punched small flowers out of it!

Now that dandy little tulle flower was a CHA make-n-take score from Maya Road!  How could I let that fab li'l beauty go to waste?!  It added the perfecto touch of red I was looking for.

The yellow star pins and the white trim were part of the Mixed Media Color Kits available through Gauche Alchemy.  Those fantastic flourishes and whimsical clock faces were FABULOUS freebie downloads I found through Pinterest.  Just click the links to find yours!

And voila!  There you have it!  I absolutely love this page and it is definitely going to be framed and hung up!  It's FRAMEWORTHY!

As usual, thanks for stopping by and taking a gander!  Now go make something....even if it's a drink!
